Conservation

Every animal deserves love, respect and to be treated with dignity.

At The Elephant and Cheetah experience, we believe that every animal matters, thus the need to teach conservation to as many people as we can. In as much as some people will not agree to our conservation efforts, we feel it is our responsibility to do what we can, when we can and how we can. It is very important to teach as many school children as we can about wildlife as they are leaders of tomorrow and they may be the future poachers too.

If, as The Elephant and cheetah experience, we can teach children to love and appreciate animals then we are going a long way in ensuring that generations to come will also get to see animals like elephants, lions and cheetahs.

Our animals enjoy the wild like any other animal as our elephants for instance spend most of their time during the day in the bush doing what elephants do. WE ARE NOT AND WILL NEVER BE a part of any form of hunting or animal abuse.

Our cheetah is also an ambassador of our cheetah conservation project where we visit schools and community gathering centers to give talks on these near extinct beautiful cats.

About the Company

The Elephant and Cheetah experience is a private company operational since the early 90s. We are committed to the conservation, wellbeing and livelihood of our vulnerable African Lion, endangered African Cheetah and Elephants. We are pioneering the breeding and hopefully future release of Cheetahs here in Zimbabwe, this being the important aspect of our Volunteer and Cheetah Conservation Trust. We are also committed to the education of our youth through our ‘Conservation Through Education Program’ conducted at our site for scholars as well as at the schools themselves . We recognise the need for our youth of today to respect and conserve our animals for the future. The future of these animals are and will be in the hands of the youth of today.

Your placement fees go directly back into the project itself, for the improvement of the programs, education, feeding the animals, veterinarian bills and care, enclosures and many more for the betterment of our animals.

We will be rendering our assistance to the capture and care of problem animals as well as of their relocation process into large safe areas where they will be out of harm’s way.

Your Project

You will be working with all our animals on site, taking part in daily walks with our lions, cheetahs and elephants. Conducting research (when available) and data capture on the activities. Also take part in our community projects in the nearby village, assisting in schools with teaching some lessons. We conduct conservation education talks in schools where we take our cheetahs to the school and teach the kids about them and wildlife conservation.
